Add support for selecting individual audio files during manual and bulk imports and pass that selection through the scan, API, job queue, processor and organizer.
Key changes:
- API: scan now returns audioFiles for each discovered book and emits a new 'grouping' progress phase; execute and manual-import routes accept file lists (audioFiles / selectedFiles) and validate them.
- Scanner: group loose audio files by metadata (title/author/narrator), deduplicate multi-part sets (CD1/CD2) across folders, and return audioFiles + groupingKey; add concurrency limit for ffprobe reads and merge groups post-scan.
- Job queue & processor: OrganizeFiles payload now includes selectedFiles; processors forward selectedFiles to the FileOrganizer and to cleanup logic.
- File organizer & cleanup: filter to only selectedFiles when organizing; cleanup now deletes only the selected files (if provided) instead of removing the whole directory.
- UI: Manual import browser and bulk import wizard updated to show per-file selection, track checkedFiles, toggle all, and send selected files to the API; ConfirmPhase updated to allow checking/unchecking files and prevents starting import with no files selected.
- Filesystem browse: removed expensive per-subfolder stats to keep browsing responsive (now lists subdirectories without nested stat calls).
Overall this change enables finer-grained imports, reduces accidental deletion of unselected files, and improves scan grouping for multi-folder audiobooks.
Introduce file and directory permission settings (fileChmod, dirChmod) end-to-end. UI: new controls in Paths settings with octal validation and defaults (664/775). API: GET exposes defaults; PUT validates octal strings and upserts configuration keys (file_chmod, dir_chmod) and clears related cache keys. Runtime: read config values in file utilities and services (FileOrganizer, direct-download, chapter-merger, epub-fixer) to apply mkdir modes and chmod files/dirs; FileOrganizer now accepts fileMode/dirMode and getFileOrganizer reads/parses DB settings. Docker: add UMASK option to docker-compose and propagate/apply UMASK in entrypoint/app-start scripts. Tests: update mocks to account for config service usage.
Add support for admin-driven interactive torrent selection and a file rename/template feature. Integrates an InteractiveTorrentSearchModal into the pending-approval admin UI, adds an admin approve flow that accepts an admin-selected torrent, and surfaces user/admin-selected torrent details in the UI. Introduces fileRenameEnabled and fileRenameTemplate settings (API + UI), persists them to configuration, and clears related caches. Pass renameConfig through the organize/organizeEbook flows and implement renaming in the FileOrganizer (single/multi-file handling). Enhance path-template utilities with conditional block resolution, filename-template validation, mock filename previews, and a buildRenamedFilename helper. Update tests to cover conditional templates and filename preview behavior.
Introduce a provider-based notification system and wire it through the API and admin UI. Added INotificationProvider + notification service implementation and providers (apprise, discord, ntfy, pushover), plus a GET /api/admin/notifications/providers endpoint to expose provider metadata. Refactored code to use provider type strings (removed enum coupling), updated masking/encryption calls, and simplified the test notification endpoint to accept backendId or type+config and call sendToBackend directly.
UI: NotificationsTab now fetches provider metadata and renders provider cards and dynamic config forms (fields driven by provider metadata). Added config field rendering, improved backend cards, and edit/delete actions.
APIs: New providers route, updated admin notification CRUD routes to validate provider types dynamically, updated test route schema. Added download-client categories POST API to fetch categories from clients and wired postImportCategory handling in download-client routes.
Other notable changes: BookDate now fetches Claude models dynamically from Anthropic's Models API; added paginated model fetch helper. Added ALLOW_WEAK_PASSWORD flag exposure to auth providers and password change logic. Doc updates and various tests added/updated. File-organization doc clarifies EPERM fix using stream-based copy.
Extend multi-download-client support to include Transmission and NZBGet and introduce per-client custom download paths. Adds protocol mapping and new client types, Transmission/NZBGet integration services, API CRUD and validation changes, UI components/modal updates and live path previews, and manager routing by protocol. Includes DB migrations (download_path on download_history, interactive_search_access on users), schema updates, and related processor/service fixes and tests to ensure backward compatibility and proper path resolution.
Refactor ebook flow to support multiple sources (Anna's Archive direct downloads + Prowlarr indexer search) and unify handling with existing audiobook processors. Key changes:
- search-ebook.processor: rewritten to try Anna's Archive first then fall back to indexer search, add Prowlarr grouping, ranking (rankEbookTorrents), and handlers to route results to direct-download or download-torrent flows.
- organize-files.processor: enriches audiobook/ebook metadata from AudibleCache (year, narrator), treats indexer downloads specially (seed retention), adds optional NZB cleanup/archive logic, and improves retryable error detection.
- file-organizer: organizeEbook now accepts additional metadata and an isIndexerDownload flag and supports directories vs single-file paths.
- API/UI: include request.type in admin requests API and remove the “coming soon” notice from Ebook settings tab.
- fetch-ebook route: removed blocking error for indexer-only mode so the flow can proceed when indexer search is enabled.
- Documentation: update TOC, ebook-sidecar, settings-pages, and ranking-algorithm docs to describe indexer search, unified ebook ranking, configuration, and flows.
These changes enable indexer-based ebook discovery, ranking, and downloads while preserving existing Anna's Archive behavior and reusing audiobook download processors where possible.

This update enhances audiobook file organization by including the ASIN in folder names and embedding it as a custom metadata tag in audio files (M4B/M4A/MP3). Introduces `asin` and `isbn` fields to the PlexLibrary schema and database, with migration and indexing for fast lookups. Updates scan and recently-added processors to persist ASIN/ISBN from both Plex and Audiobookshelf backends. Enhances matching logic to prioritize exact ASIN matches using the new fields, improving match accuracy for Audiobookshelf users. Also includes minor improvements: fixes cover art handling for cached thumbnails, adds download URL validation in Prowlarr and qBittorrent integrations, and updates documentation to reflect these changes.
Previously, files were always being copied to /media/audiobooks regardless
of the configured media directory in settings. This was caused by:
1. FileOrganizer singleton reading from MEDIA_DIR env var (never set)
instead of database config 'media_dir'
2. Hardcoded /media/audiobooks fallback being used when env var not found
3. Three locations passing hardcoded paths to addOrganizeJob (unused)
Changes:
- Modified getFileOrganizer() to read media_dir from database config
- Made targetPath parameter optional in addOrganizeJob (not used by processor)
- Removed hardcoded /media/audiobooks paths from all addOrganizeJob calls
- Updated organize-files processor to await getFileOrganizer()
- Updated documentation to reflect configuration behavior
Files now correctly copy to the directory configured in setup wizard or
settings page, with /media/audiobooks only as fallback if not configured.
